55Extensions of exempt bed status

#### 55 Extensions of exempt bed status If a grant of exempt status under subsection 39AD(4) of the 1953 Act in respect of a bed in an approved nursing home was in force immediately before the commencement day, the Secretary is taken to have determined, under subsection 31‑2(1), that the \*place corresponding to that bed is an extra service place during the period: (a) starting on the commencement day; and (b) finishing at the end of the last day on which the person, who was occupying that bed immediately before the commencement day, is provided with \*residential care in respect of the place.
