#### 54 Applications to extend exempt bed status If: (a) a person had, before the commencement day, made a written request to the Minister for a grant of exempt bed status under subsection 39AD(4) of the 1953 Act, in connection with the expiry of a certificate granted under section 39AB of the 1953 Act; and (b) as at the commencement day, the Minister had not yet granted the exempt bed status; the request is taken, for the purposes of the new Act, to be an application under section 31-2 of the new Act for determinations under that section in respect of each \*place that corresponds to a bed in the approved nursing home to which the certificate related. The application is taken to have been received on the commencement day.
