#### 85 Period in which person giving consent must be counselled 85 Period in which person giving consent must be counselled > For the purposes of section 63 (1) of the Act, the prescribed period is— > > > (a) except as provided by paragraph (b), not more than 30 days or less than 72 hours before the instrument of consent is signed, or > > > (b) in the case of counselling given to the birth mother of a newborn child—not earlier than 5 days after the birth of the child and not more than 30 days or less than 72 hours before the instrument of consent is signed.
