17A Suitability to adopt child (1) The Minister must, after considering any report given to the Minister under section 17(3), decide whether the applicant is suitable to adopt a child. (2) After making a decision under subsection (1), the Minister must give written notice of the decision to the applicant. (3) If the Minister decides the applicant is not suitable to adopt a child, the notice under subsection (2) must include reasons for the decision.
