#### 62 Consent must be witnessed by person independent of counsellor 62 Consent must be witnessed by person independent of counsellor > > (1) The signing of the instrument of consent must be witnessed, in accordance with the regulations, by a person other than the counsellor and who is independent of the counsellor. > > > (2) Before witnessing the signing of the instrument of consent by a child or other person, the witness is to sign a statement on it certifying that he or she is not aware of any mental, emotional or physical unfitness of that person to give consent. > > > (3) The witness must be a person of a class or description prescribed by the regulations.
