61 Records of adoptions
(1) The director-general must maintain records—
(a) for each adoption negotiated or arranged by or for the
director-general; or
(b) given to the director-general under subsection (2).
(2) A private adoption agency must—
(a) maintain records for each adoption negotiated or arranged by it;
and
(b) as soon as practicable after an adoption order has been made
following such negotiations or arrangements, give the
director-general the prescribed particulars concerning the
persons associated with the application for the order.
(3) For subsection (2), the associated people are the adopted person, an
adoptive parent, a birth parent and the person who made the report
mentioned in section 39D.
(4) A regulation may provide for the length of time for which, and the
manner in which, records are to be maintained for subsection (1)
or (2).
