#### 77 Collision proceedings: stay pending security If, in relation to maritime claims arising out of a collision between 2 or more ships: (a) a proceeding has been commenced as an action in rem and: (i) a counter‑claim has been made; or (ii) a cross‑action has been commenced, whether as an action in personam or an action in rem; (b) a ship has been arrested, or security has been given to avoid arrest, by a party; and (c) the other party has not arrested a ship or given such security; the court may, on application, order that the proceeding be stayed until appropriate security has been given to satisfy a judgment given in favour of the other party on the cross‑action or counter‑claim.
