25Preliminary acts

#### 25 Preliminary acts (1) Unless the court otherwise orders, a party to a proceeding must file a preliminary act. (2) The preliminary act must be: (a) in the case of a collision between 2 or more ships—in accordance with Form 10; and (b) in any other case—in accordance with Form 11. (3) In a proceeding to which this Division applies by virtue of an order under subrule 24(2), the parties must comply with subrule (1) within such time, or such respective times, as is or are specified by the court. (4) In any other proceeding to which this Division applies: (a) the plaintiff must comply with subrule (1) within 7 days after the commencement of the proceeding; and (b) another party must comply with subrule (1) within 28 days after entering an appearance and before filing a pleading.
