14 Selection criteria—President

The selection criteria for appointment as President are: (a) if the applicant is not a Judge of the Federal Court—suitability for appointment as a Judge of the Federal Court; and (b) outstanding expertise in, and experience in the practice of, administrative law; and (c) commitment to, and ability to support, the objective in section 9 of the Act; and (d) demonstrated understanding of the diverse needs of parties to proceedings; and (e) leadership and management skills, including the following: (i) ability to lead the Tribunal, with a focus on high‑quality performance, financial sustainability and innovation; (ii) ability to inspire and support members and staff members; (iii) commitment to providing a diverse, safe and respectful workplace.
