### 55 Power of personal representative to distribute assets > After the day specified in the advertisement for claims to be sent in, the personal representative shall be at liberty to pay and distribute the assets of the testator or intestate in his hands, in due course of administration, so far as respects the claims of which he then has notice, whether as a result of such claims being filed as provided by this Act or otherwise; and, if after satisfying, or retaining sufficient to satisfy, the claims of which he has notice as aforesaid there is any residue or surplus of assets, he may pay or distribute the same amongst the legatees or next-of-kin entitled thereto.
