49Q Simultaneous deaths—devolution of jointly owned
property
(1) This section applies to property—
(a) that was owned jointly and exclusively by 2 or more people who
died at the same time or in an order that is uncertain; and
(b) that was not held by them as trustees.
(2) The property devolves as if the joint owners had, at the time of their
deaths, held the property as tenants in common in equal shares.
