This AD requires operators of Harbin Y12 aeroplanes listed in Service Bulletin Y12‑76‑0036 to modify the central control pedestal (power‑lever reverse‑locking unit, switch panel and indicator light) in accordance with that SB. CASA issued the directive with an effective date of 20 March 2003 and a compliance deadline of 30 June 2003.

Owners/operators must arrange and pay for the modification, which should be done alongside the flap motoreducer modification per SB Y12‑27‑0035 (see AD/Y12/10). The change aims to prevent inadvertent reverse engagement at idle.
