This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Harbin Y12 I and II aeroplanes (product numbers 03–92) to inspect certain electrical wires for chafing, repair and protect any damage per the manufacturer’s service bulletin, and install specified crimp terminals on generator/starter wiring at the next overhaul. The CASA delegate issued the AD to correct an identified unsafe condition. Owners/operators pay for inspections and repairs and must meet set deadlines: inspection by 30 April 2003, repairs before further flight, and terminal installation at the next overhaul (4000 hours or 5000 cycles).
