AD/VAT/38 - Front Seat Restraint Installations - Modification - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels an old aviation safety rule about seatbelts in specific vintage aircraft.

What the old rule did: Originally issued in 1972, the directive required owners of Victa and A.E.S.L. Airtourer series aircraft (certified before 1967) to install upper torso restraints (shoulder harnesses) in the front seats to improve crash safety.

What this document does: It cancels that old directive as of 17 January 2008. The safety requirement hasn't disappeared—it has simply been moved to a different, broader directive: AD/GENERAL/74 Amendment 1.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of these specific aircraft types. They must now comply with the replacement directive instead of this one.
