Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive orders operators of specified UH‑1 and TH‑1 helicopters fitted with listed tail rotor grips to remove any grip that has more than 300 hours time‑in‑service, or any grip whose total time cannot be substantiated. Compliance is required before the helicopter's next flight. The measure mechanically forces immediate removal of at‑risk parts to prevent tail rotor grip failure, creating an immediate maintenance, parts‑replacement and recordkeeping cost for operators.
