Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This AD requires recurring inspections of the aileron outboard hinge bolt on certain Aerostar (Piper/Ted Smith 600/601/601P) aircraft to prevent bolt failure that could lead to loss of roll control.

It affects owners/operators, pilots and maintenance engineers: pilots may perform basic preflight checks, but certified maintenance personnel must carry out and sign off the recurring inspections.
