What this does: This cancels a previous aviation safety directive (AD/TSA-600/18) that required owners of specific aircraft to replace a warning label (placard) on the main landing gear doors.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Aerostar (Piper/Ted Smith) 600 and 700 series aeroplanes.

What changed: The original rule required replacing the main landing gear clamshell door placard within 100 hours of flight time after December 1978, following manufacturer service letter No. 600-57. As of 4 June 2009, this requirement no longer applies—you do not need to replace this placard anymore.
