AD/TSA-600/11 - Seat to Track Retaining Clips - Inspection and Modification - CANCELLED

What this is: This document officially cancels a previous airworthiness directive (AD) that applied to specific Aerostar aircraft models.

What the old rule required: The previous directive required owners or operators of Aerostar 600 and 700 series aeroplanes to inspect and modify the clips that hold the seats to the floor tracks. This was to be done following instructions from the manufacturer (Ted Smith Corporation Service Bulletin No. 600-69), typically at the next annual inspection.

What this document does: It removes that requirement entirely. As of 4 June 2009, aircraft owners no longer need to perform this specific inspection or modification.

Why it matters: If you own or operate one of these aircraft, you are no longer legally required to check or modify these seat clips under this directive. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has determined the safety issue is resolved or no longer relevant, effectively ending the obligation.
