AD/TPE 331/6 - Anti-Icing Shield - Modification - CANCELLED

This document cancels an old aircraft safety rule that required modifications to certain aircraft engines.

What it cancelled:

• An Airworthiness Directive (AD) originally issued in 1967
• The old rule required owners of AlliedSignal (Garrett/AiResearch) TPE 331 series turbine engines to modify their anti-icing shields (parts that prevent ice buildup on the engine)
• Compliance was required immediately ("forthwith") when originally issued

What this means: As of 24 September 2009, aircraft operators no longer need to comply with the modification requirement specified in the original 1967 directive. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) determined this safety action is no longer necessary.
