Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This AD mandates replacement of the turbine bearing oil inlet tube on certain AlliedSignal (Garrett/AiResearch) TPE331 engines before installation if the engine was reconditioned after March 31, 1974 and falls below model-specific serial‑number cutoffs. It affects owners/operators of those TPE331 engines.

The rule prevents oil starvation of turbine bearings by requiring the service‑bulletin procedure (or complying with the alternative AD), reducing risk of catastrophic engine failure.
