AD/TPE 331/15 - Heated Pneumatic Line - Installation - CANCELLED

What this document does:

This officially cancels a previous aircraft safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive or AD) that applied to certain AlliedSignal (Garrett/AiResearch) TPE 331 turbine engines.

What was the old rule?

The previous AD required aircraft operators to perform specific maintenance actions on heated pneumatic lines (parts of the engine's air system) within 100 hours of April 1974, following instructions in a manufacturer service bulletin (Airesearch SBNo. 73-0023 Rev 1).

What happens now?

As of 24 September 2009, this safety requirement is no longer legally binding. Owners and operators of these engines no longer need to comply with the 1974 directive, as the Civil Aviation Safety Authority has determined it is no longer necessary for safety.
