Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This AD requires owners/operators of Aerospatiale (Socata) TBM 700 aeroplanes (S/N 1–9999) to inspect and, if needed, correct excessive backlash in the elevator trim tab per Service Bulletin TBM SB 70-053-27 Amendment 2, using the updated torque values and part numbers.

The first inspection is due by the next inspection after 1 Feb 1996 or at the next Maintenance Release, whichever comes first, with repeats every 100 flight hours — to prevent loss of pitch control and ensure flight safety.
