Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Requires operators of EADS SOCATA TBM 700 aircraft with serial numbers 285–304 and 307 to follow the manufacturer’s operational procedures and to inspect control cable batch numbers, replacing cables if necessary to correct incorrect crimping that can reduce propeller RPM. CASA issued the directive under CASR 39.1.

Aircraft operators pay for and carry out the inspections and any replacements. Operators must follow EADS SOCATA Alert Service Bulletin No. 70-123, comply with the procedures before the next flight, and complete any required replacements within 25 flight hours.
