Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires TBM 700 operators (except aircraft with Mod. 70-117-55) to visually inspect the horizontal stabiliser top skin at the root-rib/central-spar junction and follow Socata Service Bulletin 70-081-55, including fitting reinforcement plates where directed. The manufacturer reported fatigue cracks that could weaken the stabiliser; CASA (under subreg 39.1(1)) mandates the inspection and remedial work, with compliance timed by total aircraft hours or the next maintenance release as stated in the Directive.
