Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Requires modifying the front-seat locking mechanism on Aerospatiale (Socata) TB9 and TB10 (Tobago) aircraft that were not produced with Socata modification No. 165, to prevent reported front seats from unlocking. The work must follow Socata Service Bulletin No. 10-115-25 and be completed at the next scheduled inspection after 19 July 2001.

Owners/operators must arrange and pay for the modification; the Civil Aviation Safety Authority issued the directive under CAR 1998 subregulation 39.1(1). The change mechanically removes interference between the seat pan and the lock identified by the manufacturer.
