Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

Owners/operators of Aerospatiale (SOCATA) TB9, TB10 and TB200 aeroplanes must inspect—and, if needed, correct—the front seat belt anchorages following SOCATA Mandatory Service Bulletin 10.044.25 Amendment 1. An initial inspection is required before 2 March 1996 and then at intervals not exceeding 12 months to detect otherwise concealed corrosion.

The cost and responsibility fall to operators; the AD aligns inspection frequency with the Country of Origin DGAC directive, reducing the interval to improve safety.

AD/TB10/14

Amdt 1

Front Seat Safety Belts 3/95

Applicability: All Model TB9, TB10 and TB200 series aircraft.

Requirement: Action in accordance with SOCATA Mandatory Service Bulletin 10.044.25 Amendment 1.

Note: DGAC AD 89-097(A)R1 refers.

Compliance: Prior to 2 March 1996, and thereafter at intervals not to exceed 12 calendar months.

Background: Seat belt anchorage fittings are hidden by aircraft trim and therefore are not readily inspectable for corrosion.

Amendment 1 is issued to align this Directive with a revision of the Country of Origin AD which reduces the inspection interval.
