Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This AD mandates inspections, per Lycoming Service Bulletin No. 0052, of specific centrifugal compressor impellers (P/Ns 1‑100‑078‑07/‑08) installed in AlliedSignal (Lycoming) T53-series engines (T5317A, T5313B, T53‑L‑13B). It sets cycle‑based windows (immediate 200‑cycle inspection after 3,500 or 4,600 cycles, then every 500 cycles) to allow impellers to reach manufacturer life limits. Affected operators and maintenance organisations bear inspection, repair and downtime costs.
