Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This AD requires operators of listed Fairchild (Swearingen) SA226 and SA227 aeroplanes to protect the left and right main/auxiliary fuel boost pump wiring in accordance with specified Fairchild Service Letters. The protection must be done at the next boost pump removal or, at latest, within six months or 1,200 hours after the AD takes effect. CASA’s delegate issued the directive; operators and maintenance organisations must pay for and perform the protection to address wiring chafing that could cause electrical arcing or fire in the fuel tanks. The amendment corrects a prior AD reference without changing the substantive requirement.
