Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires owners/operators of specified Fairchild (Swearingen) SA226/SA227 models to carry out the manufacturer’s prescribed maintenance in the referenced Fairchild service bulletins within 100 flight hours after 25 April 1996. CASA issued it to prevent failures of engine power‑control cable attaching hardware (one failure caused an engine shutdown). Operators bear the cost and scheduling burden; maintenance organisations must perform the work per the service bulletins under CASA oversight.
