Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires relocating the left‑ and right‑hand essential bus current limiters on specified Fairchild (Swearingen) SA226/SA227 aeroplanes using the listed Fairchild service bulletins (Requirement). Compliance must occur within 2,000 hours time in service after 9 November 1995 (Compliance).

Stated purpose is to prevent a current‑limiter failure combined with an engine failure from removing power to the essential bus (Background). Owners/operators pay for and carry out the SB work; the regulator fixes affected aircraft by model and serial number (Applicability).
