This CASA Airworthiness Directive mandates inspection and modification of the fuel booster-pump electrical wiring on specified Fairchild Swearingen SA226/SA227 aircraft (certain serial-numbered airframes) to eliminate wiring routed near the fuel hopper. It addresses a risk of electrical shorting that could ignite fuel, causing fire or explosion. This Amendment 1 only updates referenced Service Bulletins; operators who complied with the original AD (due June 1986) need take no further action.
