Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of specified Fairchild (Swearingen) SA226/SA227 serial-numbered aeroplanes to inspect the main landing‑gear door system per Fairchild Swearingen Service Bulletin No. 32‑026, to be completed within 100 hours TIS after 31 January 1983. It responds to incidents of gear doors shifting and locking the gear up, so affected operators (and their maintenance organisations) must perform the inspection and any repairs at their own cost, accepting associated downtime.
