Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Requires operators of specified Fairchild (Swearingen) SA226/SA227 aircraft (unless modified by SB No. 74-002) to install, within 10 hours, a cockpit placard reading “Flight into known icing conditions prohibited” in plain view of the pilot. The AD responds to reported engine flame‑outs and power loss from propeller‑spinner ice; it places a small compliance cost and an operational restriction on aircraft owners/operators.
