Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of certain Fairchild (Swearingen) SA226 and SA227 aeroplanes to inspect the elevator return spring and its attachment hardware, replace any damaged parts before further flight, and ultimately relocate the spring using the specified Fairchild service bulletin as a terminating modification. It applies to listed serial-numbered models, imposes short, recurring inspection intervals (initial within 25 hours unless recently done, then every 300 hours) until the relocation is completed within 2,200 hours, and places the compliance cost and work on operators and maintenance organisations.
