Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

What it does: Requires owners/operators of specified SIAI Marchetti F260/F260B aeroplanes (particular serial numbers) that have NOT been fitted with steel propeller governor arm P/N 260-13-274-01 to inspect the propeller governor arm within 25 hours time-in-service after 31 January 1978 and then every 50 hours, using SIAI Marchetti SB No. 260B18A.

Why it matters: The Directive aims to identify and fix a potential unsafe condition in the governor arm; operators bear the inspection and any replacement costs, while fitting the specified steel arm removes the recurring inspection requirement.
