AD/SM-260/12 - Canopy Latch Assembly - Modification - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels a 1979 aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive) that required owners of SIAI Marchetti 260 series aircraft to modify their canopy latches. The original rule was designed to stop canopies from accidentally unlocking mid-flight. Because every affected aircraft would have already made this change by the original 1979 deadline, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority has scrapped the directive effective 30 July 2009. This removes the legal obligation to comply, though in practice all planes were already modified decades ago.
