| Applicability: | Model 340B aeroplanes serial numbers 340B-342, -359 through -394, -396 through-404 and -406. |

| Requirement: | Unless previously accomplished, inspect, rework and, if necessary, replace the fluorescent lamp holders in accordance with SAAB Service Bulletin 340-33-040 Revision 01 dated 29 January 1997 or later revision approved by the Swedish Luftfartsverket (LFV) or the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). |

| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 11 January 2010. | |
| Background: | This Directive results from a routine review of airworthiness directives for SAAB 340 model aeroplanes. The review discovered that all references to the inspection, rework and replacement of the ceiling and lavatory fluorescent lamp holders had been removed from AD/SF340/54 Amdts 1 and 2. |
| This Directive re-establishes the requirement to inspect, rework and, if necessary, the replacement of the ceiling and lavatory fluorescent lamp holders. |
