Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Avio Interiors model 312 box-mounted passenger seats (P/N 312xx27-xxxxx or 312xx36-xxxxx) to inspect attachment brackets P/N DM03313-1 and DM03314-1, replace any cracked items immediately, and replace those attachments when they reach 8,000 flight hours, following Avio Interiors SB 312/912-05 Rev 1. Inspections are required before 18 July 2002 and then every 650 flying hours or at each seat removal.

It applies to aircraft fitted with these seats (for example, some Fokker F27 types) and aims to prevent bracket failure that could let seats tip forward and injure occupants.
