Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires owners/operators of all Shorts SD-360 aeroplanes to carry out repeated inspections of the elevator torque shaft assembly and, by a set deadline, a mandatory reinforcement modification to the torque shaft housing attachments using the manufacturer’s specified service bulletins. It was issued after a reported loss of elevator control to reduce that risk.

It affects the entire SD-360 fleet, imposes inspection and modification costs on aircraft owners/operators, and creates recurring maintenance scheduling and downtime obligations.
