Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

Requires all Short SD3-60 aeroplanes to have the vertical stabiliser main-spar web (shear attachment) fittings inspected according to Shorts Service Bulletin SD360-53-45 and for any fitting with unacceptable corrosion to be replaced before further flight. CASA issued this amendment to adopt a revised inspection/replacement programme after additional corrosion findings and a related UK CAA AD. The rule directly affects SD3-60 operators and maintenance organisations, who must schedule inspections and pay for any repairs or replacements.
