Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires all operators of SD3-60 aircraft to inspect the flight control trim chain connecting link following Shorts Mandatory Service Bulletin SD3-60-27-30 because a trim chain assembly was made with a ‘spring clip’ link that does not meet Class 1 locking. Aircraft operators must carry out the inspection and any corrective action at the times specified in the service bulletin; the AD took effect 10 August 2000 and was notified 12 July 2000. Operators bear the inspection and rectification cost and must follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
