Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires repeated inspections of the horizontal stabilizer spar webs on specified Short SD3‑60 aircraft serial numbers until a specified modification is fitted. Affected operators must inspect at the next Maintenance Release after 31 Dec 1987 and then every 1,000 or 1,500 flights (depending on serial range and some operational history) until modified per the manufacturer’s service bulletin. The amendment changes those inspection intervals based on additional manufacturer testing; operators bear the inspection costs, scheduling burden, and must follow the cited service bulletins.
