Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This directive mandates a physical modification to the passenger‑cabin window of specified Short SD3‑30 aircraft (listed serial numbers) per Shorts Service Bulletin SD3‑56‑02 (Modification No. 6159), to be completed before 1 April 1982. Operators bear the cost and must schedule the work, which temporarily reduces aircraft availability; the measure aims to reduce the risk of propeller‑cast ice penetrating the affected window and improve occupant safety.
