Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of all SD3-30 aircraft to inspect the flight‑control trim chain connecting link in line with Shorts Mandatory Service Bulletin SD330‑27‑38 after a trim cable/chain was reported fitted with a non‑Class 1 ‘spring clip’ link that fails locking requirements. CASA sets the compliance standard and effective date; aircraft owners/operators and maintenance organisations must carry out and pay for the inspections and any corrective work because the connection is safety‑critical and could affect trim integrity.
