Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This is a mandatory Airworthiness Directive (a legal safety order) issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

What it requires: Owners and operators of British Aerospace (Scottish Aviation) Twin Pioneer Series aircraft must immediately modify the lift strut (a structural component that helps support the wing). Specifically, they must install a multi-bolt attachment system for the stabilising strut, following the technical instructions in Scottish Aviation Modification No. C311.

Who must comply: All models of the Twin Pioneer aircraft.

When: Immediately (the term "forthwith" means without delay — you cannot defer this work).

Why it matters: This directive addresses a specific safety defect or structural weakness in the original strut attachment design. Non-compliance is illegal and could lead to structural failure in flight.
