Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This is an Airworthiness Directive—a mandatory safety order from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) that legally requires aircraft owners to fix a specific safety issue.

Who it affects: Anyone operating any model of the British Aerospace (Scottish Aviation) Twin Pioneer series aircraft.

What must be done: The hydraulic valve must be fitted with a strengthened gland (a reinforced seal) to prevent leaks or failures. The work must follow Scottish Aviation Modification No. C285.

When: This modification must be completed before the aircraft reaches 750 landings.

Why it matters: Hydraulic system failures can lead to loss of flight controls or braking capability, creating serious safety risks.
