Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This AD mandates that operators of AS332 C/C1/L/L1 helicopters fitted with scissor link P/N 330A31-1407-22 with carbide swivel bearings must carry out the maintenance/corrective actions in Eurocopter Telex No.10063.S1/0176/93 (and related telex) within 10 flight hours from 30 July 1993, after a reported in‑flight scissor‑link failure.

The measure is time‑critical, implemented via CASA and the manufacturer telex, imposes inspection/repair/replacement costs and likely short‑notice aircraft downtime to mitigate the identified failure risk.
