Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Sikorsky S‑76A, S‑76B and S‑76C helicopters (with listed serial-number exceptions) to inspect the main rotor spindle attachment bolt in accordance with Sikorsky Alert Service Bulletin 76‑65‑52. Compliance must occur within 1,250 flight hours or two years from 26 November 2002. CASA (by delegate) issues the mandate; operators bear inspection, repair and downtime costs. The AD follows discovery of incorrect production bolts that could reduce fatigue life and risk main rotor separation.

Applicability: Model S-76A, S-76B, and S-76C helicopters; except those having a serial number of 760501, or 760506 through 760515.

Requirement: Inspect in accordance with Sikorsky Alert Service Bulletin 76-65-52, dated 24 July 2001.

Note: FAA AD 2002-21-07 Amdt 39-12913 refers.
