Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive applies to all Sikorsky S‑76A helicopters and requires operators to follow FAA AD 2002-05-06 as the technical requirement, effective 13 June 2002. It updates the S‑76A maintenance manual by setting or revising retirement lives for certain landing‑gear parts and adding cycle counting as a retirement method. Mechanically, owners/operators must change how and when they retire and replace specified parts; the operator bears replacement and record‑keeping costs while CASA enforces compliance.
