This Airworthiness Directive mandates that all Sikorsky S‑76 helicopters whose main rotor blades have not been repaired per Overhaul and Repair Instruction No. 76150‑023 Rev A must be inspected and corrected in accordance with Sikorsky Alert Service Bulletin No. 76‑65‑50 before further flight (Applicability; Requirement; Compliance). CASA issued the directive after reports of a 20‑inch crack and multi‑foot root‑end pocket separations attributed to improper manufacture. Operators must arrange and pay for the inspections/repairs; the directive points to manufacturer and FAA guidance for the technical steps.
